Almost all Nations in he World look up to United States far away as the model to follow in many aspects of life. While many wise wisdom may copy from neighbors countries who had the similar cultures or tradition to be followed.

Four provinces in Indonesia out of 33 are Melanesian who are the closest neighbor in the East part of Indonesia. They are Papua, West Papua, Maluku, North Maluku or Moluccas and East Nusa Tenggara province.
We may compare the cultures, dark skin, curl hair of the five provinces  above with Melanesian countries in Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Fiji and Solomon islands. Lets take a look to the photos of the girls and ladies either in Melanesian countries nor in Indonesia.

The five provinces in Indonesia not belong to Melanesian countries based on old history, agreement between the colonial rules (Dutch) that Indonesia territory was at Merauke region bordered with Papua New Guinea.
A new independent country also including in Melanesian folks is Timor Leste  new independence country in the East part of Timor island, bordered with West Timor belong to East Nusa Tenggara Timur, Indonesia. Timor Leste formerly colonialized by Portuguese.

The cultures of Melanesia including in 5 provinces in Indonesia and Timor Leste country were almost similar,traditional dancing, music, folk songs, colorful weaving , traditional sculpture and many more. Most communication in Melanesia are Papua language beside their local languages.

In political an economic cooperation, Melanesia since 1983 organized in Melanesia Spearhead Group (MSG) start from 4 countries, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Vanuatu and Solomon island. While Indonesia as an observer. The headquarter is in Port Villa, Vanuatu capital.  The biggest city in Melanesia is Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

Indonesia President, Joko Widodo, Monday, May 11, 2015 made State visit to Papua New Guinea to strengthen  ties between 2 neighbor countries and the Spreadhead Melanesia Group as well. Indonesia businessman should widen their sight to Invest in Melanesian countries, our closet countries then to other part of the World far away.
