GENERAL ELECTION DAY OF INDONESIA, APRIL 9, 2014


Indonesia Republic is one of the biggest democracy country in the World
where citizen free to decide wich party and who is the candidate to lead the country for the next 5 years.

After peacefull campaign was over, the time come for Indonesian going to poll stations on April 9, 2014 to decide party's candidates for local and national level.


Then on July 2014 once again in second  phase Indonesan going back to the pool stations. This time to choose for President and Vice for 2014 - 2019 term period from a lots of candidates.Since, based on constitution, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono couldn't nominated again after 2 terms.

Indonesia is a big Moslem country in the World but Moslem never ever got the mayority because too many Parties carry religion background, so Moslem voters divided/distributed accordingly.

One of the Moslem party, Partai Keadilan Sejahtera run by younger generation, relatively clean and seem more religious then other in 2009 election. But lately many its cadres involved in mega corruption and jailed, make the members get rid of this party, then statitic trend saw going down in the pollings.

Ruling party, Partai Demokrat that governed in 2 terms period of 10 years, for the last couple of years tend to going down, because the top officials of the party jailed due to corruption in many mega projects, including the head, the treasurer, secretary and a minister, closed relation with President.

Ultimately, the big tree party possible would got big votes are Nasionalist parties with the history link to the previous Goverment.
The first is PDIP, Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan, the opposition party, head by Megawaty Soekarnoputri, the daughter of the 1st President, Soekarno. The party had lots networks across the country, claimed the party of the poors.
This party blamed unsuccessfull when took power in 2004 - 2009 after economic crisis hitted Asia, including Indonesia.

The second is Partai Golkar, lead by Aburizal Bakrie, conglomerate link to 2nd President Soeharto, as the ruling party for more than 3 decades. Soeharto blamed of back some conglomerates and his children bussines. They claimed had long experiences in the Government, and had a lots of networks across the country. The party included into coalition,to support the ruling party.

The third party is Partai Gerindra, head by retired General Prabowo Subianto, the son of law of 2nd President Soeharto and conglomerate as well. Public remembered the issue of his involvement in kidnapped student activists in 1998 before President Soeharto resign (He was the commander of special army forces)

After election was over on April 9, 2014 then wich parties would get minimum 25% votes as Nationally, have the right to appointed candidates for President and Vice President from the same party or beyond. The parties who got under 25%  may set the coalition of  two or more parties to appointed their candidates too.

The general election of President and Vice President will take place on July 2014 and the new couple will establish in power in October this year.

This topic will updated as soon as the election is over and officially will inform sometime in May 2014. The result by Quick count a day after the election for the top 5 as follows:
1. PDIP, Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Pembangunan 18,9 %
2. Golkar party 14,65 %
3. Gerindra party 12,26 %
4. Demokrat, the ruling party 8,89 %
5. PAN, Partai Amanat National 7,34 %

Before final formal result, every party start busy to approach who will be the parties to set a coalition with to appoint a new couple, President and Vice President
